Nairobi is my stomping grounds so to speak. It's where I feel most comfortable, and this trip, I actually did some stomping by foot to get around as I cannot stand the traffic in Nairobi! Fortunately the International Guest House is within walking distance to a variety of shops, most importantly the Nakumat! So I got to the internet cafe several times during the 3 week trip. It's really torn up right now with all the cabling they are doing for fast speed network connections. I mean Kenya is technologically abuzz! It's beautiful there too. Not everywhere obviously, but some of my first impressions are of the city view and flowers.

Juma - a true blessing
|
One of the things that I always remark about Kenya is that there is always someone who can help in a tight pinch. Juma was one of those folks - he picked us up late from eating more than one night. He had eaten already, but patiently waited outside for the hours it took us to eat ourselves full of samosas and tea. You can get ripped off in Nairobi just as easy as you can find someone who is helpful. That's why I'm particularly grateful for people like Juma.

Getting kissed by a giraffe! |
But the highlight of my trip to Nairobi this year was to Giraffe Manor. It was absolutely wonderful, but I'm particularly fond of animals anyway! Tom and I had time to pose for the camera as well. You just gotta do and see all there is in Nairobi when you are there.
